Mairi Clark is a Scottish artist who lives and works on the East Coast of Fife. Her evocative paintings are based on the sea and landscape, she paints in a semi-abstract style exploring colour, texture and washes primarily in oil.

From an early age she always loved to draw and paint. Inspiration comes from the ever changing light, on different forms of land and seascape. Travel, memories, painters that she truly admires and escaping outdoors.

Photography is important to Mairi, always having her mobile to hand. Try to capture that last lingering sunset, brooding sky, evening across the coast or hazy sunshine.

“I like to capture the mood and feel of a place that viewers can identify with”. She never over-plans a composition preferring to keep it as fresh and vibrant to the viewer.
